LONE ROCK RETREAT
We strive to promote community without ever feeling crowded. There’s abundant space for interaction (formal and informal, large and small groups, indoor and outdoor), but also places for individual quiet moments. Ultimately, we strive to promote an environment for our guests to reflect, reconnect and reenergize and go back to their communities to continue to make positive changes for those they serve.
The Lodge at Lone Rock is the centerpiece and heart of our retreat.
It flows as if it’s part of the landscape. It's three stories and all of the connection spaces inside are meant to reveal themselves slowly and surprisingly to our guests.
The base of the building rises from the land with rammed-earth walls built with local earth and the third story is clasped by a distinct curved roof. Positioned to amaze you will have multiple views out to the surrounding valley and the peaks of the Rocky Mountains beyond.
Our second and third floors are anchored by two “homerooms,” clubhouse-style hubs for visiting groups to meet for breakfast, breaks and evening socializing.
To encourage people to interact with others who they just met, each homeroom also includes a music lounge with jam session-ready instruments, a library, billiards, board games, books and unique indoor/outdoor rammed-earth fireplaces.
"The nourishment of body is food, while the nourishment of the soul is feeding others."
-Ali ibn
In addition to meals served at the group's "homeroom", we also invite guests to our additional dining options on the first floor of the Lodge. Each area includes beverage stations in addition to food that has been curated and cooked with love by our culinary team.
The three additional venues for our guests include the Saloon, Meadow Bistro and Pizzeria. They are designed to foster social interaction while feeling comfortable for guests who just met and are dining together. These unique experiences include a build-your-own pizza venue, a saloon featuring an 1800’s back-bar reclaimed from a Kansas saloon, a farm-to-table concept, all with access to an adjacent outdoor patio.
Enjoy your meal or end of the day glass of wine fireside at one of our two large firepits located just steps outside of our dining rooms. Just remember, don't feed the animals!
The round design is intentionally created to cultivate an egalitarian, non-lecture environment for conversation and idea-exchange.
The acoustics have been designed in such a way that guests can hear each other from any point in the rooms without the assistance of technology.
The Seminar building has a “break room” for conversation, socializing and to recharge with a fresh beverage and snack. For an instant recharge, step out onto the patio and take a deep breath of fresh mountain air. If you need space for a private conversation, step into one of our sound proof booths so you don't have to leave the building.
Built outside into the slope adjacent to the Seminar building is a natural amphitheater that event facilitators can program for discussion, meditation, presentations, team building or small group gatherings.
Self care and time to restore spirits are a critical ingredient to our guests' ability to reflect, reconnect, reenergize.
Our Wellness building is decidedly of its surroundings, bunkered into the steep slope and topped off with a green roof of earth and grass.
Outside you can escape into the cascading hot spring-like pools for soaking. For the adventurous, take a dip in the cold plunge and awaken your spirits.
Grab a book, a glass of wine and retreat to the private rooftop deck next to the outdoor fireplace and enjoygorgeous views of the mountain range.
